A new version of the highly commended Mum & Baby app, developed and built by Imagineear, has been commissioned by Ginekologiczno-Położniczy Szpital Kliniczny (GPSK), the main maternity hospital in Poznań, Poland and one of the biggest in Europe.
The app, known as Mama & Dziecko, has been personalised to the hospital and includes ability for the user to set a protective passcode. It includes advice for all stages of pregnancy as well as content on labour and birth plus the first few weeks after a baby is born.
The content is relevant to all new mothers and their partners. All the information provided has been approved by the medical staff at GPSK to give best and consistent clinical advice and to address all the worries that new mums might have.
A feature of Mama & Dziecko is the provision of a personalised plan for labour and birth. The plan can be printed at any stage for discussion with the woman’s maternity team. Different types of appointments can be scheduled and personal notes made for discussion at those appointments.
The app, which is free to download in Poland in iOS and Android compatible formats, was originally realised through the initiative of Dr. Sunita Sharma, Lead Consultant of Postnatal Services at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. It was co-funded by both CW+, the hospital’s charity, and Imagineear.
The launch of this new adaptation follows on from three UK versions which have had over 14,000 downloads to date and a 97% satisfaction rating from new mums.
“This app provides women and families with fingertip access to clinically recommended sources of information and support and enabling users to make choices about, and to personalise their journey through GPSK’s maternity services.”
said Mariusz Marszałkiewicz, Imagineear’s partner in Poland.
Personalised versions of Mum & Baby are available to other healthcare providers in the UK and globally under licence from Imagineear Ltd.
