University Hospital Southampton eye unit takes RELAX Anaesthetics
The Eye Unit at Southampton Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust which performs several hundred paediatric operations a year has ordered RELAX Anaesthetics tablets from Imagineear to help calm and distract children before their surgical procedures.
The double-awarding winning therapy tool provides a choice of games, art and music entertainment for children aged 2-16 years, broken down into age groups and preferences designed to appeal to boys and girls.
RELAX Anaesthetics is the brainchild of two consultant anaesthetics working at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Dr Peter Brooks and Dr Corina Lee and it was developed in a creative and investment partnership between Imagineear and CW+, the health charity of the hospital to give a better patient experience.
"We are keen to try RELAX Anaesthetics on our young patients. One great practical advantage for us, or any other hospital, is that the device does not need to use wifi so there is no risk of the hospital’s firewall system preventing it from functioning."
