19th November 2020 | Mum & Baby app announced Digital Health winner at the London Design Awards 2020

Imagineear Health’s Mum & Baby app has been awarded Silver in the Digital Health category at the London Design Awards 2020, organised by DRIVENxDESIGN. One of ten international programmes, the prestigious London Design Awards provides marketplace recognition across an extensive range of categories and celebrates the creativity and courage of those who are leading the way.

The nomination was shortlisted in June and has since been presented to the jury and undergone extensive peer review by members of the DRIVENxDESIGN international community by a ratings process. The Judging Panel, comprised of industry experts who have an understanding of design from both an aesthetic and marketplace perspective, will celebrate the winners at the virtual awards ceremony via zoom on 1st December, 2020.

Mum & Baby was originally developed and co-funded by Imagineear Health and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust through their charity CW+. Imagineear Health is a division of Imagineear dedicated to the design, build and management of apps and related digital tools in partnership with the NHS and other healthcare providers, for the benefit of patients and clinicians.

Mum & Baby gives women and their families NHS-curated and clinically-evidenced guidance and information on pregnancy, birth and beyond. It offers a high level of personalisation to include their due date, appointments and personal care plans, and is available from the Apple and Google Play app stores. The app was amended in April, in response to the Coronavirus pandemic, to include up-to-the-minute, clinically-reliable advice for pregnant women and new mothers as soon as it is approved by Public Health England, and the app has been included in ORCHA’s Covid-19 Health App Library.

Now with a nationwide reach, Mum & Baby has been extended to include local information and contacts specific to NHS Local Maternity Systems in England under licence, now serving more than 60,000 births annually.

“We celebrate the role of design in enriching the human experience. Design that solves human needs through the application of technology and human centered design methods.” said . “In the Digital health category, we were looking for ground-breaking apps accelerating medical research or apps helping consumers make healthier choices, that are making health information and medical services more accessible to all.”

Mark Bergin, Founder & Awards Chairman

“Beautiful, functional, user-orientated design is central to every project we undertake across Imagineear. Winning this prestigious design award recognises not only the talent and expertise of our exceptional design team, but also highlights the growing importance of the products and services we offer to our healthcare clients. In addition to our in-house team, we work in close collaboration on this project with our partners at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, their charity CW+, and the NHS North West London Health and Care Partnership. I am excited on the entire teams’s behalf that Mum & Baby’s design has been recognised with this leading design award.”

Andrew Nugée, Founder & CEO at Imagineear
